College Football Week Seven Preview

I apologise for the lack of formatting in this post. I'm writing this on my iPhone from a coffee shop in a Dallas mall. I'm up to 12 words a minute on this baby.

Picks

Oklahoma State vs. Missouri

Can we postpone this game until Dez Bryant gets the all clear from the NCAA? OSU struggled to put away a bad Texas A&M team last week. Unless this game is also going to be played in monsoon-like conditions, don't be fooled by Mizzou's dreadful fourth quarter against Nebraska.

Arkansas at Florida

The Hogs have shown the can name the score on a FCS team (Mo State), hammer a bad team (Texas A&M), and blow out a decent team at home (Auburn). They couldn't do any of those thing last season. But this will be a different kind of test.

However karma is on the Hogs' side. Arkansas has played a top ranked team on October 17th twice in their history. In 1964 Ken Hatfield returned a punt to beat number one Texas 14-13, and in 1981 Arkansas beat number one Texas 42-11. (I heard this from Clay Henry on the Tulsa Sports Animal. I'd feel bad if I took credit for his research.)

Interesting, but that's not going to win make Arkansas' defenders tackle any better.

Oklahoma vs. Texas

Oh no! Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy are friends! Cats and dogs are living together! Coke and Pepsi are in the same vending machine! The Capulets are breaking bread with the
Montagues!

Listen, if you think it's inappropriate for Bradford and McCoy to be buddies, then go to iamsecond.com and watch the videos and maybe that'll change your mind. I just hope the Lord convicts McCoy about flopping on the sidelines to draw personal fouls.
